When you ship your household goods to Australia one part of the process you cannot avoid is the Australian Quarantine & Inspection Service (AQIS) examination. All household goods shipments entering Australia will be assessed and potentially inspected by AQIS before they are released for delivery. You must provide an inventory of goods within your shipment and identify any specific items that may be of concern. If AQIS have concerns they may undertake inspection before release and they may also request items be treated before release, if treatment is not possible they may sieze and destroy any prohibited items or ask that they are re-exported.
In this article we’ve summarised some of the key information provided by the AQIS which we hope will be of use in preparing for your move.

If you are moving to USA with kids then you are no doubt researching the US School system. You will find many similarities to the UK. Compulsory education in the USA begins age 5, when a child enters kindergarten before progressing to elementary schools (grade 5), middle schools (grades 6-8) and finally high schools (grades 9-12). All children must attend school until 16 but most remain on until they graduate aged 17 or 18.
